Job Description

Overview

The Director of Engineering Services at Clarios will lead the St. Joseph Manufacturing Engineering, Operational Excellence, and Maintenance teams, focusing on developing and optimizing manufacturing processes across the campus. This role emphasizes driving operational improvements and fostering a culture of continuous improvement and data-driven decision-making in a fast-paced production environment.

Key responsibilities

  • Lead and provide technical oversight for both the St. Joseph Assembly Plant and Distribution Center.
  • Develop and implement strategies to improve manufacturing processes for quality, cost effectiveness, and efficiency.
  • Coach technical teams in problem solving and lead problem-solving teams as necessary.
  • Ensure compliance with manufacturing safety standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Develop and manage preventive maintenance strategies and standardize practices across facilities.
  • Lead reliability initiatives, including Root Cause Analysis (RCA) and Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (FMEA).
  • Manage and develop a team of engineers, maintenance leaders, and skilled tradespeople.
  • Develop and manage maintenance budgets, capital expenditures, and vendor contracts.
  • Collaborate with regional and global teams on best practices.
  • Drive continuous improvement projects and lean manufacturing initiatives.

Required skills

  • Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Industrial Engineering
  • 10+ years of experience in a manufacturing environment
  • Experience in process controls and automation projects
  • Strong communication and presentation skills
  • Previous experience with Six Sigma or Lean is preferred
  • Operational experience and financial acumen
