Overview

The Director of Engineering at Lane Enterprises is responsible for overseeing engineering operations, project management, and personnel within the organization. This role requires strategic direction to align technical capabilities with organizational needs and involves significant leadership within industry committees.

Key responsibilities

  • Manage and coordinate engineering projects, personnel, and processes for timely and high-quality outcomes.
  • Analyze engineering needs and recommend staffing strategies.
  • Guide Lane as an industry leader on relevant committees and ensure compliance with specifications.
  • Participate in technical discussions regarding products and solutions.
  • Provide and oversee technical training for Lane personnel.
  • Guide product improvement and development initiatives, particularly in pipe design and stormwater management.
  • Collaborate with governmental agencies and stakeholders for product specification and application.
  • Develop internal policies and technical documentation for consistent engineering practices.
  • Ensure compliance with evolving industry standards.

Required skills

  • Proven leadership and management of technical teams and projects.
  • Strong expertise in civil engineering, especially stormwater management.
  • Exceptional organizational and time management skills.
  • Effective communication with engineers, managers, and customers.
  • Ability to evaluate and develop engineering staff.
  • Experience in product development and stormwater applications.

  • Proficiency in interpreting technical documentation and specifications.
  • Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering.
  • Licensed Professional Engineer (PE) certification.
  • Minimum 10 years' experience in design and construction of drainage products.
  • Minimum 5 years' experience in stormwater management.

What the company offers

  • Base salary range between $157,000 and $202,000 per year.
