Job Description

Overview

The Director of Development at Richmond Waldorf School is responsible for executing the school's fundraising initiatives, managing grant applications, and enhancing alumni relations. This role involves coordinating communication strategies, planning events, and working closely with the Development Committee.

Key responsibilities

  • Plan and execute a fundraising strategy for the fiscal year
  • Manage the Annual Fund, fundraising events, and donor stewardship
  • Create and distribute fundraising campaign outreach
  • Track progress towards fundraising goals and report updates
  • Oversee grant reporting and apply for supporting grants
  • Coordinate community-wide communication strategies
  • Create content for social media accounts related to development
  • Build and enhance relationships with alumni
  • Co-coordinate school events with the Development Committee and Parents Association
  • Maintain positive relationships with parents and colleagues

Required skills

  • Bachelor's degree in relevant fields
  • 3+ years of experience in development management or coordination
  • Fundraising experience in a school setting
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Ability to manage multiple demands in an organized manner
  • Experience with social media management
  • Understanding of Waldorf education preferred
