Job Description

Overview

The Director of Capital Design and Construction at the Utah Transit Authority will oversee and manage capital and State of Good Repair (SGR) construction projects and programs. This role involves working with government agencies, developing strategic programs for mass transit services, and coordinating resources among various capital construction projects.

Key responsibilities

  • Oversee capital and SGR construction projects from design to quality control.
  • Develop and manage strategic programs for mass transit services.
  • Interact with government agencies for permitting and funding.
  • Build networks and relationships among UTA stakeholders.
  • Coordinate allocation of resources among projects.
  • Work with executives to develop new ridership and revenue opportunities.

Required skills

  • Seven years in strategic capital project management.
  • Experience in leadership roles for major transportation projects.
  • Bachelor's degree in Civil or Transportation Engineering, construction management, or urban planning.
  • Strong negotiation, communication, and presentation skills.
  • Ability to lead complex business strategies and manage change.
