Overview

Harbor Health Services is seeking a Director of Behavioral Health for its Community Health Centers, responsible for providing strategic and operational leadership in clinical and administrative functions across various locations including Dorchester, Plymouth, and Hyannis. This role emphasizes regulatory compliance, budget management, and the enhancement of community health outcomes through program development and partnership building.

Key responsibilities

  • Provide direct clinical care to patients consistent with licensure and training.
  • Lead and manage all clinical and administrative functions for Behavioral Health Departments.
  • Develop, oversee, and manage departmental budgets.
  • Establish operational practice norms and ensure adherence to regulatory standards.
  • Lead performance improvement initiatives and support staff training programs.
  • Recruit, train, and supervise clinical and administrative staff.
  • Design, implement, and maintain behavioral health policies and operational standards.
  • Monitor compliance with treatment standards and documentation requirements.
  • Monitor service effectiveness and oversee insurance authorization processes.
  • Build and maintain relationships with community leaders and stakeholders.
  • Coordinate and manage contractual agreements and partnerships.
  • Oversee student and intern programs.

Required skills

  • Masters or Doctorate degree from an accredited program based on required licensure level
  • Current Massachusetts independent clinical license (LICSW, LMHC, LADC1, or PMHNP) or licensed psychologist (Ph.D. or Psy
  • Current BLS certification
  • Leadership experience in outpatient behavioral health or substance abuse settings
  • Minimum of 4 years post-degree clinical experience
  • Minimum of 2 years' experience in clinical supervision preferred
  • Experience with Epic/OCHIN electronic health record preferred
  • Intermediate skills with Office 365 (Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams)
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Familiarity with DPH requirements for behavioral health in community health centers
  • Experience in managed care settings preferred
  • Ability to travel to all Harbor site locations
