Overview

The Director of Architectural Production is responsible for ensuring the effective execution of construction documentation and quality assurance processes across various design-build projects at Blue Heron Companies. This role focuses on improving operational efficiency while maintaining accuracy and clarity in design and documentation, incorporating advancements in BIM and AI technologies.

Key responsibilities

  • Lead production and QA/QC teams to ensure efficiency and accuracy in drawing production.
  • Drive operational integration through standardization and process improvements.
  • Manage and enforce standardized processes for construction documentation.
  • Oversee adherence to BIM documentation standards across all projects.
  • Research and implement innovative tools, including AI, to enhance workflows.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure effective project documentation.
  • Maintain a lessons learned database to capture insights and improve processes.

Required skills

  • Professional degree in Architecture or related field; Licensed Architect preferred.
  • 10+ years of architectural experience, with 5+ years in residential construction documentation.
  • Strong knowledge of local and federal building codes and permit processes.
  • Proficient in Revit; experience with AutoCAD, SketchUp, or similar CAD/BIM programs.
  • Excellent organizational, communication, and leadership skills.
  • Detail-oriented with a commitment to high standards of accuracy.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite and Bluebeam.
