Overview

The IT PMO Director at Powers Health is a leadership position responsible for establishing and evolving an enterprise-wide IT Project Management Office. This role involves aligning technology initiatives with the strategic priorities of the healthcare system, overseeing a complex portfolio of IT programs, and ensuring governance and successful execution to enhance clinical operations and patient experience.

Key responsibilities

  • Establish and lead the IT Project Management Office
  • Align technology initiatives with healthcare system strategic priorities
  • Ensure governance, prioritization, and execution of IT programs
  • Serve as a strategic partner to executive and operational leaders
  • Foster a high-performing PMO culture focused on accountability and continuous improvement
  • Advance modern delivery methodologies while maintaining compliance with healthcare regulations

Required skills

  • Bachelor's degree in related field (Master's preferred)
  • 10+ years in IT project, program, or portfolio management
  • 5+ years in a leadership role managing PMOs
  • Strong experience in healthcare IT environments
  • Experience with EHR implementations and digital transformation programs
  • Ability to manage cross-functional teams and large-scale budgets
  • Familiarity with healthcare data standards (HL7, FHIR) preferred
  • Knowledge of project management methodologies (PMP preferred)
  • Understanding of ITIL or similar service management concepts
  • Certifications in Lean, Six Sigma, or Agile preferred
