Job Description

Overview

As the Director of Internal Audit and Risk Management at PacifiCorp, you will lead the internal audit function, shaping a forward-looking, risk-based audit strategy and partnering with senior leadership to enhance internal controls. This high-visibility role will involve managing complex audit initiatives, collaborating with external auditors, and engaging with the Berkshire Hathaway Audit Committee to drive governance and transparency.

Key responsibilities

  • Lead and manage PacifiCorp's internal audit function.
  • Establish and maintain audit department standards and policies.
  • Conduct annual risk and fraud assessments to develop a dynamic audit plan.
  • Monitor audit goals, objectives, and key performance indicators (KPIs).
  • Coordinate SOX testing to evaluate internal controls over financial reporting.
  • Collaborate with business and IT to identify risks and drive process improvement.
  • Communicate audit findings and collaborate with management on remediation plans.
  • Lead, mentor, and develop the audit team.

Required skills

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, business administration, or related field.
  • Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or Certified Internal Auditor (CIA).
  • Minimum of 10 years in audit, risk management, or compliance; at least 5 years in management.
  • In-depth knowledge of auditing standards and regulatory compliance requirements.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, and presentation skills.
  • Ability to influence and work effectively across all organization levels.
  • Experience working with Boards of Directors and Audit Committees is desirable.
