Overview

The Director, Institutional ETF & Solutions Distribution at BMO Financial is responsible for leading the sales and servicing of the institutional ETF platform, alongside alternatives and active investment solutions, within Western Canada. This role is vital for driving institutional growth by establishing strong relationships with sophisticated institutional investors, including pension plans and hedge funds, and requires a self-motivated individual who excels in a team-driven environment.

Key responsibilities

  • Lead institutional sales efforts focused on BMO GAM's ETF platform.
  • Drive growth in alternatives and active strategies aligned with client objectives.
  • Identify and develop new institutional relationships through proactive outreach.
  • Provide consultative advice on asset allocation and portfolio construction.
  • Maintain long-term relationships with institutional clients.
  • Develop and execute an annual territory business plan for growth and retention.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to deliver integrated institutional solutions.
  • Communicate regularly with sales leadership on regional performance and market dynamics.

Required skills

  • Undergraduate degree required; CFA and/or MBA preferred.
  • Minimum 10 years of institutional investment sales experience.
  • Advanced understanding of institutional ETFs and alternatives.
  • Demonstrated success in consultative sales environments.
  • Strong relationship management and consultative skills.
  • Exceptional presentation and public speaking skills.
  • Strong business planning, prioritization, and time management skills.
