Job Description

Overview

The Director of Financial Planning and Analysis at Midland States Bank will lead the company's financial planning process, overseeing budget development and periodic forecasting. Reporting directly to the Chief Financial Officer, this role involves collaborating with various organizational members to enhance forecasting processes and performance visibility.

Key responsibilities

  • Develop and manage the annual budget and periodic forecasts.
  • Provide financial analysis and business decision support.
  • Oversee reporting and analysis of financial information.
  • Integrate acquired entities into profitability reporting and budgeting processes.
  • Support the accounting team with financial statement reporting.
  • Drive the Business Unit Review process for accuracy and consistency.
  • Bridge disparate systems to validate reporting queries.
  • Support quarterly external reporting and earnings calls.
  • Provide financial modeling and analysis for projects.
  • Supervise team members, including their selection and performance management.

Required skills

  • Bachelor's Degree in Finance or Accounting
  • 10+ years of progressive finance experience
  • 5+ years in banking or financial services
  • Knowledge of budget and forecasting processes
  • Experience with financial services funds transfer pricing
  • Familiarity with GAAP accounting in banking
  • Experience with financial reporting systems like Cognos and Axiom
  • Critical thinking and problem-solving skills
  • Project management abilities
  • Effective communication and collaboration skills
