Overview

The Director of Emergency Services at Washington Hospital Healthcare System will oversee operations in the Emergency Department in Fremont, California. This role involves ensuring high-quality patient care and managing a team of 128 FTEs while aligning department goals with organizational objectives.

Key responsibilities

  • Oversee operations of the Emergency Department
  • Ensure high-quality patient care and nursing services
  • Lead a team of 128 FTEs
  • Align staffing schedules with patient flow
  • Reduce overtime and double-time usage
  • Foster a cohesive work environment and team culture
  • Make data-driven decisions and manage problems proactively
  • Support staff effectively and demonstrate accountability

Required skills

  • Bachelor's degree required; MSN preferred
  • Active RN license required
  • Certification in Emergency Nursing (CEN) preferred
  • Minimum of five years of experience as an RN in the Emergency Department
  • At least five years of progressive leadership experience
  • Strong operational mindset
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills
  • Experience in change management and team building
