Overview

The Director of Commercial Finance at Southern Glazer's Wine & Spirits serves as a business partner to the Corporate Commercial team, focusing on maximizing profits and enhancing gross margin performance through strategic pricing and promotions analysis. This role is pivotal in standardizing tools and processes to ensure effective performance reporting and analytics within the organization, while fostering a culture of continuous improvement and growth.

Key responsibilities

  • Analyze pricing and promotional activities to optimize trade spend and internal profitability.
  • Evaluate product and supplier financial performance to identify opportunities for optimization.
  • Support volume growth while safeguarding the value through informed decision-making.
  • Develop and adopt new reporting tools to improve data analytics.
  • Deliver training to enhance capabilities in margin improvement and spend management.
  • Assist in creating the annual sales plan for volume, revenue, and gross profit.
  • Facilitate the implementation of company initiatives and ensure consistent execution.
  • Prepare and distribute commercial finance reports essential for organizational insight.
  • Recruit, train, and evaluate team members according to company policies.

Required skills

  • Bachelor's Degree in Finance, Accounting or related field
  • 5+ years of experience in commercial finance, P&L responsibility, and forecasting
  • Experience in financial planning and pricing management in the CPG industry
  • Familiarity with supplier and wholesaler dynamics and relevant state regulations
