Overview

The Director of Collections and Fraud Oversight at BMO Financial is a senior leadership role responsible for managing and improving risk strategies related to collections and fraud across retail products. This position provides oversight, strategic direction, and analytical expertise to enhance collections strategies and ensure compliance with regulatory standards, while also fostering a culture of operational resilience and continuous improvement.

Key responsibilities

  • Provide actionable feedback to improve collections approaches and monitor strategy outcomes.
  • Challenge first-party fraud strategies and assess Enterprise Fraud Management data.
  • Lead governance, oversight, and reporting frameworks for risk management.
  • Integrate insights from collections and fraud into upstream strategies.
  • Promote a culture aligned with BMO's values and drive team performance.
  • Act as a trusted advisor to senior leaders and influence business decision-making.

Required skills

  • Graduate degree in Business, Economics, or a quantitative discipline
  • 10+ years of experience in Financial Services with a focus on Collections and Fraud Prevention
  • Expertise in credit risk management and portfolio oversight
  • Advanced skills in analytical assessment and modeling of strategies
  • Strong knowledge of Canadian regulatory frameworks
  • Leadership in influencing and negotiating for business objectives
