Job Description

Overview

Pacific Life is seeking a talented Director & Actuary for ALM Analytics to join their Enterprise ALM team. This leadership role focuses on analyzing enterprise interest rate risk metrics and developing effective risk mitigation solutions for various products, while fostering collaboration across multiple departments. The position is based in Newport Beach, CA and offers a hybrid work model with 4 days on-site and 1 day remote weekly.

Key responsibilities

  • Lead and oversee enterprise asset reporting for accuracy and consistency.
  • Deliver cash forecasts and funding level reports for liability support.
  • Partner with key stakeholders on ALM reporting and investment strategy.
  • Standardize data sources and strengthen data governance.
  • Develop data infrastructure and dashboards for comprehensive analysis.
  • Contribute to ALM risk metric reporting and strategy design.
  • Assist in developing enterprise investment strategies.
  • Lead, mentor, and develop a team of actuarial and financial professionals.

Required skills

  • FSA designation
  • 8+ years of actuarial experience in ALM and risk management
  • Bachelor's degree in actuarial science, finance, mathematics, or related field
  • Strong quantitative, analytical, and problem-solving skills
  • Effective time management and prioritization
  • Ability to work independently and lead a team
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Experience with VBA, SQL, Python, and Tableau
