Overview

Olymel is seeking a Maintenance Director for their Ste-Rosalie facility in Quebec. This role involves planning, organizing, directing, and controlling maintenance activities, ensuring operational efficiency and compliance with health and safety standards. The ideal candidate will thrive in a collaborative environment and contribute to the overall effectiveness and quality of operations.

Key responsibilities

  • Plan, organize, direct, and control maintenance activities including preventive maintenance, repairs, and optimization of equipment
  • Participate in the selection and integration of infrastructure projects and technological choices
  • Monitor and manage the department's budget to meet performance targets
  • Supervise and support maintenance team members including supervisors and technicians
  • Manage subcontractors across various trades
  • Ensure adherence to quality standards, hygiene rules, and HACCP/SQF compliance
  • Participate in health and safety committees and collaborate with different departments
  • Perform other related tasks as required

Required skills

  • University or college degree in a relevant field or equivalent experience
  • 10 years of supervisory experience in maintenance in an industrial unionized environment
  • Electricity license (asset)
  • Relevant experience in a similar role
  • Knowledge of applicable laws and regulations
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills in French and English
  • Proficiency in common software (Windows, Word, Excel)
