Overview

The Directeur de maintenance at Béton Provincial in Joliette, Quebec will develop and direct the strategic vision for maintenance at the cement plant, implementing advanced methodologies like reliability-centered maintenance and predictive maintenance. The role involves optimizing the preventive maintenance program, leading and training the maintenance team, and ensuring compliance with environmental, health, and safety regulations.

Key responsibilities

  • Develop and implement the strategic vision for maintenance
  • Establish and optimize the preventive maintenance program
  • Lead, train, and evaluate maintenance team members
  • Assist the General Manager with plant objectives and implementation
  • Collaborate with the production team to minimize downtime
  • Ensure compliance with EHS regulations and champion safety
  • Manage and analyze maintenance performance indicators
  • Utilize SAP for integrated business and maintenance management
  • Oversee the maintenance department budget and purchases
  • Manage site contractor programs

Required skills

  • Bachelor's degree in mechanical, electrical, or industrial engineering or equivalent experience
  • Minimum 15 years of recent experience in a maintenance leadership role in heavy industrial manufacturing
  • Experience managing unionized personnel
  • High knowledge of industrial utilities, machine mechanics, electrical systems, and automation
  • Expertise in preventive maintenance program optimization
  • Knowledge of advanced maintenance methodologies (RCM, TPM, predictive maintenance)
  • Strong leadership and strategic planning skills
  • Excellent problem-solving and data-driven decision-making skills
  • Bilingual in French and English, both written and spoken
