Overview

Comhar Inc. is seeking compassionate and dedicated Direct Support Professionals (DSPs) to provide essential residential support to individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities in Lansdale, PA. This role involves assisting clients with daily living activities while promoting dignity, privacy, and independence.

Key responsibilities

  • Provide respectful, person-centered support to individuals with disabilities.
  • Assist with daily living activities such as personal hygiene and household tasks.
  • Support meal preparation and encourage proper nutrition.
  • Administer approved medications according to guidelines.
  • Safely operate COMHAR vehicles for transportation of consumers.
  • Complete accurate and timely documentation for all assigned duties.
  • Report crises, unusual incidents, or concerns to the Site Manager.
  • Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings and required training.
  • Maintain confidentiality of all consumer information and follow policies.
  • Provide crisis intervention and assist at other sites when cross-trained.

Required skills

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Current PA Driver's License with satisfactory driving record
  • Six months of related experience in an IDD Residential facility
  • Knowledge of COMHAR policies and applicable regulations
  • Attention to detail for resident safety and vehicle operation
  • Ability to work well with individuals with emotional and cognitive challenges
  • Capacity to manage multiple tasks and priorities
