Overview

United Counseling Service of Bennington County Inc is seeking a Direct Support Professional in Arlington, Vermont for an on-call/as-needed position. This role involves delivering individualized supports to individuals with intellectual disabilities or autism spectrum disorder, contributing to a dedicated team focused on positive community impact.

Key responsibilities

  • Provide direct services in a respectful and professional manner supporting client choice
  • Facilitate conversations and activities that match the individual's interests
  • Monitor emotional and physical well-being
  • Advocate for the individual with family and community members
  • Teach and model safety skills and appropriate social behavior
  • Administer medications and assist with personal care as needed
  • Collect required data and complete necessary documentation in a timely manner
  • Participate actively in team meetings and collaborate with clinical staff

Required skills

  • Direct support experience preferred
  • Experience with individuals with intellectual disabilities preferred
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Outlook
  • Valid driver's license
  • Reliable transportation
