Overview

United Counseling Service of Bennington County Inc is seeking a Direct Support Professional for specialized services in an on-call capacity. This role focuses on delivering individualized support to individuals with intellectual disabilities or autism spectrum disorder, aimed at enhancing their quality of life and community involvement.

Key responsibilities

  • Provide respectful, friendly, and professional direct service to clients
  • Facilitate activities and conversations that match clients' interests
  • Advocate on behalf of clients with family and community
  • Introduce clients to community resources and activities
  • Monitor clients' emotional and physical well-being
  • Maintain accurate documentation for development and compliance
  • Collaborate with clinical staff for mental health support
  • Participate in team meetings and care plan discussions

Required skills

  • Direct Service experience preferred
  • Experience with individuals with intellectual disabilities preferred
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Outlook
  • Valid Driver's License
  • Reliable transportation to transport clients
