Overview

The Direct Support Professional for Residential Services at Paladin Inc. is responsible for assisting individuals with disabilities in achieving their personal health care and independent functioning skills. This position involves engaging with clients in various activities that promote their independence, safety, and overall well-being, whether at home, in group settings, or within the community.

Key responsibilities

  • Assist individuals with disabilities in daily personal care activities
  • Plan and implement daily community-based programming and classroom activities
  • Maintain compliance records and documentation as required
  • Transport clients to and from agency or community activities
  • Provide training and supervision based on individual program plans
  • Administer medications and assist with feeding and personal care as needed
  • Facilitate arts and crafts and computer training sessions
  • Maintain clean and safe environments for clients
  • Attend meetings and professional development activities as needed

Required skills

  • Experience in patient care and disability support
  • Knowledge of behavior management and personal care
  • Basic math skills and understanding of curriculum planning
  • Valid driver's license or PPC license with a good driving record
  • Strong communication and public relations skills
  • Ability to lift and assist individuals up to 150 lbs
  • Patience and flexibility in dealing with clients and changing routines
