Overview

The Direct Support Professional (DSP) - Residential at United Counseling Service will provide essential support to individuals in a group home setting, implementing Individual Support Agreements (ISAs) and participating in daily activities. This role requires compassion and teamwork to help individuals achieve personal growth and independence.

Key responsibilities

  • Implement each individual's ISA while promoting independence and personal growth.
  • Participate in daily routines such as self-care, money management, and community outings.
  • Administer medications as assigned and ensure accuracy in tasks.
  • Communicate with nursing staff in a timely manner.
  • Serve as an advocate for individuals, ensuring respect, safety, and dignity.
  • Attend team meetings and contribute to discussions.
  • Accurately enter data and maintain required documentation.
  • Perform general housekeeping and household management tasks.

Required skills

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Direct service experience preferred
  • Experience with individuals with intellectual disabilities preferred
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Outlook
  • Valid Driver's License
  • Reliable transportation to transport clients
