Overview

Sevita is seeking a Direct Support Professional to provide community-based services for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities in Parkersburg, West Virginia. This role involves delivering personalized support within a program, helping individuals with daily activities, health maintenance, and behavioral development, all while fostering professional relationships and respecting individuals' rights.

Key responsibilities

  • Provide direct support per individual service plans
  • Assist with personal care, housekeeping, and recreational activities
  • Document progress and maintain confidentiality
  • Manage individuals' assets and assist with financial management
  • Report incidents and maintain safety standards
  • Accompany individuals to medical appointments as needed
  • Administer or assist with medications and monitor health
  • Prepare meals according to dietary needs and preferences
  • Participate in ongoing training and team meetings
  • Comply with workplace safety policies and report hazards

Required skills

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred
  • Six months of experience in human services preferred
  • Valid driver's license in good standing
