Overview

As a Direct Support Professional (DSP) at Our House Inc, you will support adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities in community residences and employment services. This role focuses on assisting with daily living skills and promoting independence while ensuring the health and safety of the individuals served.

Key responsibilities

  • Support residents with daily routines and independent living skills
  • Assist with personal care and medical needs
  • Administer and document medications accurately
  • Transport residents to medical appointments and community activities
  • Facilitate community inclusion through various activities
  • Ensure resident safety, dignity, and well-being
  • Maintain accurate documentation in electronic health records
  • Advocate for residents' rights and individual goals
  • Participate in staff meetings, trainings, and team collaboration

Required skills

  • Experience in caregiving, human services, behavioral health, education, or healthcare
  • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation
  • High school diploma, GED, or equivalent
  • Ability to attend a two-week paid training
  • Intermediate to advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office and web-based systems
  • Strong judgment, problem-solving, and decision-making skills
