Overview

Paladin Inc is seeking a Direct Support Professional for the Day Service program in Lake County, Indiana. This role is focused on assisting individuals with disabilities in maintaining and improving their independent functioning skills through personal care, community engagement, and various activities structured around their individual needs.

Key responsibilities

  • Attend to personal health care needs of clients
  • Implement daily schedules for community-based programming and classroom activities
  • Maintain records for compliance with funding sources and agency requirements
  • Transport individuals to activities as required
  • Provide supervision and support in various programs
  • Assist with medication administration and personal care needs
  • Document and report on client progress and needs
  • Participate in training and professional development activities
  • Maintain inventory of program supplies and equipment

Required skills

  • Experience in personal care assistance and behavior management
  • Knowledge of various disability types and their impact
  • Good public relations and communication skills
  • Valid driver's license or PPC license
  • Ability to independently organize time and duties
