Job Description

Overview

As a Direct Support Professional with Sevita, you will play a crucial role in providing rehabilitation services to individuals with brain and spinal cord injuries in a supportive community-based environment. Your work will involve training and assisting individuals with essential life skills, therapeutic recreation, and daily activities.

Key responsibilities

  • Provide training and supervision to individuals receiving care in living skills and therapeutic recreation.
  • Assist with daily activities such as meal preparation, personal hygiene, shopping, and cleaning.
  • Administer medication as needed.
  • Facilitate relationships between employers and individuals served.
  • Support community involvement by accompanying individuals on outings or providing transportation.
  • Collaborate with clinical staff to support therapeutic and behavioral plans.

Required skills

  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent
  • Six months to one year of experience in human services
  • Valid Driver's License
  • Minimum of 21 years of age
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Effective communication skills
  • Caring attitude and dedication to assisting others
  • Reliable and responsible attitude
