Overview

Sevita is seeking a Direct Support Professional in Fergus Falls, Minnesota, to provide community-based services for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities. This role offers the opportunity to create meaningful relationships and help participants lead fulfilling lives through various supportive activities.

Key responsibilities

  • Assist individuals with personal hygiene and support with behavioral challenges
  • Develop and support participants in achieving developmental goals like budgeting, exercise, and nutrition
  • Create real, meaningful relationships with the individuals served
  • Take initiative to help participants engage in community activities
  • Collaborate with a mission-driven team and contribute to a supportive environment

Required skills

  • Six months of experience in human services, direct care, or care coordination preferred
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills
  • Adaptability and the ability to multi-task
  • Time-management and teamwork abilities
  • Patient and compassionate demeanor
  • Valid Driver's license and access to a registered vehicle with proof of insurance
