Overview

Sevita, through its REM Community Services, provides community-based support for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities. The Direct Support Professional role involves creating meaningful relationships and assisting participants in achieving their developmental goals, while promoting a fulfilling, independent lifestyle.

Key responsibilities

  • Help people grow, learn, and live well
  • Develop relationships with the individuals served
  • Assist participants with personal hygiene and daily activities
  • Support participants with developmental goals like budgeting, exercise, and nutrition
  • Take initiative to help participants engage in community activities

Required skills

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Experience in human services, direct care, or care coordination preferred
