Job Description

Overview

The Direct Care Staff at Catholic Charities Archdiocese of Boston is responsible for assisting and mentoring young parents with daily living and parenting skills to foster a safe and positive living environment. The role involves day-to-day oversight of residents, responding to emergencies, and ensuring program policies are followed.

Key responsibilities

  • Oversee and instruct young parents in daily living activities.
  • Ensure a safe and comfortable environment for residents.
  • Respond quickly to emergency situations.
  • Transport residents to various locations as needed.
  • Model appropriate behavior and enforce program rules.
  • Complete documentation and incident reports promptly.
  • Assist with implementing Service Plan tasks.
  • Supervise meal preparations and ensure proper nutrition.
  • Maintain cleanliness of common areas and facilities.
  • Attend staff meetings and training as required.

Required skills

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field or Associates degree with three years of relevant experience.
  • Current CPR and First Aid certification.
  • De-escalation skills.
  • Strong organizational and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to communicate clearly and effectively.
  • Experience working with diverse and difficult client populations.
  • Bilingual ability in Spanish or Khmer preferred.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and database applications.
  • Valid Massachusetts driver's license with a good driving record.
  • Ability to lift, push, and pull up to 10 pounds.
