Job Description

Overview

The Director of Epidemiology RWE at Syneos Health will lead the development and management of epidemiological projects and analyses that support real-world evidence (RWE) strategies, specifically in the fields of Oncology and Immunology. This role demands a strong background in epidemiology, biostatistics, and observational research methodologies within the pharmaceutical or consulting industries.

Key responsibilities

  • Lead development of study protocols, analysis plans, and study reports.
  • Design and manage epidemiological, biomarker, and data science projects.
  • Conduct analyses for internal and external decision-making.
  • Identify fit-for-purpose data for timely execution of RWE strategies.
  • Communicate observational research results and develop pertinent sections of regulatory documents.
  • Coauthor abstracts and manuscripts for dissemination of study results.
  • Contribute to the development of processes and training to enhance efficiency and quality of functional activities.

Required skills

  • PhD in Epidemiology, Biostatistics, or related field; Master's degree may be acceptable with more experience.
  • Minimum four years of relevant post-doctoral experience in pharmaceutical or consulting industry.
  • Deep understanding of observational research methods and secondary data analysis.
  • Experience with electronic medical records and medical claims databases.
  • Proven ability to design independent studies and manage cross-functional collaborations.
  • Experience leading drug development projects for at least two years.
