Job Description

Overview

The Registered Dietitian at Walden Behavioral Care in Dedham, MA, provides clinical nutrition and meal planning services for both inpatient and residential programs, including coverage for adults and adolescents. This per diem position is essential for helping patients with eating disorders navigate their nutritional needs in a supportive and collaborative environment.

Key responsibilities

  • Complete comprehensive Nutrition Assessments for newly admitted patients within 48 hours of admission
  • Conduct follow-up Nutrition Assessments twice a week
  • Prescribe appropriate meal plans to support identified nutrition goals
  • Collaborate with patients and support persons to promote meal plan adherence
  • Participate in individual and group nutritional therapy
  • Engage in treatment team planning and discharge planning
  • Provide effective education to parents and families
  • Communicate progress and activities related to treatment plans to all stakeholders

Required skills

  • Master's Degree in a relevant field
  • Registered Dietitian (RDN) certification
  • Licensed Dietitian Nutritionist (LDN) in Massachusetts
  • Experience in providing direct nutritional care in an Eating Disorder Program or Mental Health setting
  • Experience with menu planning and therapeutic diets
  • Knowledge of medical nutrition therapy and motivational interviewing
  • Strong organizational and communication skills
  • Ability to multi-task in a changing environment
  • Team collaboration skills
  • Familiarity with therapeutic modalities like FBT, DBT, CBT, ERP, and ACT
