Overview

Alfaro Communications Construction Inc. is looking for a skilled Diesel Truck and Construction Equipment Mechanic to join their team in Acton, California. This role involves performing maintenance and repairs on diesel-powered vehicles and equipment, leveraging mechanical knowledge and electrical systems expertise to diagnose and resolve issues efficiently.

Key responsibilities

  • Perform routine maintenance tasks such as oil changes, filter replacements, and lubrication of engines
  • Diagnose malfunctions and perform necessary repairs on diesel engines, transmissions, and other components
  • Inspect brake systems, steering mechanisms, wheel bearings, and other vital parts to ensure proper functioning
  • Use diagnostic tools to identify electrical system issues and repair or replace faulty components
  • Conduct thorough inspections of vehicles and equipment to identify potential problems or areas for improvement
  • Keep accurate records of all maintenance and repair work performed
  • Adhere to safety protocols and maintain a clean and organized work environment

Required skills

  • Valid state-issued driver's license and a clean driving record
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience
  • Strong mechanical knowledge of diesel engines, transmissions, and other related components
  • Experience in hydraulic systems and heavy construction equipment
  • Proficiency in using diagnostic tools and reading schematics
  • Ability to assemble, disassemble, and reassemble engine parts accurately
  • Familiarity with vehicle maintenance procedures and schedules
  • Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to troubleshoot issues efficiently
  • Experience operating forklifts and power tools is a plus
