Orica is seeking a Diesel Shop Mechanic in Gold Hill, NC, responsible for maintaining and repairing Class B trucks and Mobile Mixing Units with a focus on hydraulics, gear process pumps, and electrical systems. This role offers a chance to work in a collaborative environment within a globally recognized company that values diversity and innovation in the mining and civil blasting industry.

Key responsibilities

  • Perform preventive maintenance and repair on Class B trucks and Mobile Mixing Units
  • Troubleshoot and maintain hydraulics, gear process pumps, and electrical systems
  • Work independently in remote areas as needed
  • Minimize downtime in delivery and service processes

Required skills

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • 4-5 years experience in troubleshooting or maintenance
  • Computer literacy with industrial applications
  • Expertise in control theory and systems (electronics, electrical, hydraulics, pneumatics)
  • Automotive electrical experience
  • Experience with engine, chassis, hydraulics, and pumps
