Overview

Orica is seeking a Diesel Shop Mechanic for their Gold Hill, NC location. The role involves maintaining and repairing Class B trucks and Mobile Mixing Units, with a focus on hydraulics, gear process pumps, and electrical systems, primarily related to engine and chassis work. As part of a global company, the mechanic will contribute to the essential services that support mining and civil blasting operations.

Key responsibilities

  • Perform preventive maintenance and repairs on Class B trucks and Mobile Mixing Units
  • Minimize equipment downtime to ensure efficient service delivery
  • Work independently in remote areas as needed
  • Utilize strong problem-solving skills in troubleshooting maintenance issues

Required skills

  • 4-5 years experience in troubleshooting or maintenance environment
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Expert knowledge of control theory and systems including electronics, hydraulics, and pneumatics
  • Computer literate with experience in industrial applications
  • High School Diploma or Equivalent
  • Automotive Electrical experience
  • Engine and Chassis experience
  • Hydraulic and Pumps experience
