Overview

The Diesel Service Technician role at Corporate Coverage Company in Joliet, Illinois involves maintaining and repairing the fleet of vehicles and heavy equipment. The technician will diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues, ensuring all repairs meet safety standards and comply with regulations.

Key responsibilities

  • Perform maintenance and repairs on fleet vehicles, heavy equipment, and machinery.
  • Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues.
  • Conduct road tests to ensure repairs are successful.
  • Ensure compliance with safety standards and regulations.
  • Track parts and equipment inventory and assist with purchasing.
  • Document all maintenance work accurately.
  • Follow safety protocols and procedures.

Required skills

  • 5 years of experience as a Diesel Mechanic
  • Knowledge of hydraulic systems
  • Proficiency in diagnosing and repairing engines, transmissions, and electrical systems
  • Strong troubleshooting skills
  • Ability to work with moderate supervision
  • Physical capability to lift 50 lbs or more
  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred
  • Own set of tools
  • CDL Class B license (preferred but not required)
  • Welding experience (a plus)
