Jones & Sons Inc is seeking a Diesel Mechanic for their Washington, Indiana location. As a family-owned business established in 1971, they focus on delivering quality materials and services to their customers in the construction industry. The ideal candidate will maintain and repair a variety of company vehicles and heavy equipment while adhering to safety practices.

Key responsibilities

  • Maintain, repair, and adjust company vehicles and heavy equipment
  • Provide road service to fleet vehicles and other equipment
  • Perform system checks using proper diagnostic tools
  • Maintain hydraulic pressures on vehicles and equipment
  • Repair and rebuild engines as needed
  • Conduct preventive maintenance on various vehicle systems
  • Utilize computer diagnostic tools for equipment assessment
  • Keep work area tidy and clean

Required skills

  • Own tools
  • Basic welding ability
  • Experienced with diesel engines preferred
  • Qualified or able to qualify as a Brake Inspector under DOT standards
  • Ability to troubleshoot and repair equipment
  • Good safety practices
  • Valid driver's license (CDL preferred)
  • Physically fit to lift at least 50 pounds and perform physical tasks
