Overview

We are seeking a skilled and energetic Vac Truck Diesel Mechanic to join our dynamic maintenance team. In this vital role, you will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining a fleet of vac trucks and heavy equipment used in industrial and construction settings. Your expertise will ensure that our equipment operates efficiently, safely, and reliably, supporting our operational goals. This position offers an exciting opportunity for mechanics with a passion for heavy machinery, automotive diagnostics, and diesel engine repair to thrive in a fast-paced environment where safety and quality are top priorities.DutiesPerform comprehensive inspections, diagnostics, repairs, and preventive maintenance on vac trucks, including diesel engines, transmissions, hydraulics, suspension systems, brakes, shocks & struts, and HVAC components.Utilize schematics and technical manuals to troubleshoot complex mechanical and electrical issues efficiently.Conduct fabrication tasks such as welding, soldering, and assembly of parts to repair or modify equipment as needed.Operate heavy machinery including excavators, cranes, forklifts, and tractor-trailers to facilitate repairs or move equipment safely within the shop or job sites.Maintain detailed service records and documentation of repairs performed using computerized maintenance management systems.Assist with tire service, wheel alignments, air brake systems, and other vehicle maintenance tasks to ensure optimal safety standards.Use power tools and hand tools proficiently for assembly, disassembly, welding, or fabrication projects while adhering to safety protocols.Support customer service efforts by communicating effectively with team members and clients regarding repair status and recommendations.ExperienceProven mechanic experience with heavy equipment operation and automotive repair in a dealership or industrial setting.Strong background in diesel engine repair with knowledge of transmissions, hydraulics, electrical systems, and HVAC components.Familiarity with schematics reading for troubleshooting complex mechanical and electrical issues.Hands-on experience with fabrication techniques such as welding and soldering is highly desirable.Knowledge of farm machinery, industrial equipment, tire service, suspension systems, shocks & struts, brake repair, and power tools usage.Ability to lift heavy components safely and perform heavy lifting tasks regularly.Excellent mechanical knowledge combined with strong customer service skills to support team collaboration and client satisfaction.
