Overview

Greyhound Lines, Inc. is looking for an experienced Diesel Mechanic to join their team in Dallas, Texas. This role involves inspecting, diagnosing, and maintaining diesel-powered buses to ensure safe and reliable transit for drivers and passengers.

Key responsibilities

  • Deliver high-quality routine inspections, maintenance, and repairs on diesel engines and coach-related components of buses
  • Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues
  • Repair or replace defective parts, including engines, transmissions, and brakes
  • Maintain accurate records of all service work performed
  • Follow safety procedures and company protocols
  • Communicate clearly with drivers, dispatch, and the maintenance manager regarding vehicle status and repair timelines
  • Stay up to date on the latest diesel engine technologies and repair techniques

Required skills

  • 2+ years of professional experience as a diesel mechanic, preferably on buses, trucks, or heavy-duty vehicles
  • Basic shop tools ownership - specialty and shop tools provided
  • Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record
  • Ability to obtain a CDL
  • Flexibility to work shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays
  • Physical ability to lift up to 75 lbs and work in confined spaces
  • ASE certifications preferred
