Overview

Greyhound Lines, Inc. is looking for an experienced Diesel Mechanic to inspect, diagnose, repair, and maintain their fleet of diesel-powered buses in Dallas, Texas. The role requires a skilled technician dedicated to ensuring the safety and reliability of vehicles for both drivers and passengers.

Key responsibilities

  • Deliver high-quality routine inspections, maintenance, and repairs on diesel engines and bus components
  • Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues
  • Repair or replace defective parts, including engines, transmissions, and brakes
  • Maintain accurate records of all service work performed
  • Follow safety procedures and company protocols
  • Communicate with drivers, dispatch, and the maintenance manager about vehicle status and repair timelines
  • Stay updated on the latest diesel engine technologies and repair techniques

Required skills

  • 2+ years of professional experience as a diesel mechanic
  • Experience with heavy-duty vehicles, preferably buses and trucks
  • Ability to own basic shop tools; specialty and shop tools provided
  • Valid driver's license with a clean driving record
  • Ability to obtain a CDL
  • Willingness to work shifts including evenings, weekends, and holidays
  • Physical ability to lift up to 75 lbs and work in confined spaces
  • ASE certifications preferred
