Overview

Greyhound Lines, Inc. is looking for an experienced Diesel Mechanic to join their team in Dallas, Texas. The role involves inspecting, diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining a fleet of diesel-powered buses, ensuring they are safe, reliable, and ready for the road.

Key responsibilities

  • Deliver high-quality routine inspections, maintenance, and repairs on diesel engines and related components
  • Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues
  • Repair or replace defective parts, including engines, transmissions, and brakes
  • Maintain accurate records of all service work performed
  • Follow all safety procedures and company protocols
  • Communicate vehicle status and repair timelines with drivers, dispatch, and the maintenance manager
  • Stay up to date on the latest diesel engine technologies and repair techniques

Required skills

  • 2+ years of professional experience as a diesel mechanic, preferably on buses, trucks, or heavy-duty vehicles
  • Diesel engine repair
  • Mechanical troubleshooting

  • Preventative maintenance
  • Vehicle inspection
  • Safety compliance
  • ASE certification
  • Own basic shop tools - specialty and shop tools provided
  • Valid driver's license with a clean driving record
