Overview

Republic Services is seeking a Diesel Maintenance Shop Technician A in Hickory, North Carolina, to perform maintenance and repair work on diesel and non-diesel equipment and trucks. The role involves working directly under supervision to tackle complex repair tasks on various vehicle systems, using state-of-the-art equipment to support drivers and ensure the vehicles are maintained at the highest standards.

Key responsibilities

  • Perform repair and maintenance on heavy-duty trucks and equipment
  • Maintain advanced knowledge of vehicle components and systems
  • Repair chassis components, refuse bodies, hydraulic, and electrical systems
  • Conduct general engine work and HVAC component maintenance
  • Perform inspections and troubleshoot malfunctions using electronic tools
  • Complete applicable company training programs
  • Assist with other job-related duties as assigned

Required skills

  • 3 years of experience as a technician on heavy-duty trucks
  • Knowledge in suspensions, steering, engines, transmissions, brakes, electrical, hydraulics, drive train, and diesel emis
  • Ability to perform inspections and repairs independently
  • ASE Heavy Truck Certifications (T1-T8) preferred
  • LNG and/or CNG experience preferred
  • Class B or higher Commercial Driver's License preferred
  • Valid Driver's License
