Overview

The Diagnostic Medical Sonographer at UCHealth plays a crucial role in performing sonography and ensuring patient care in accordance with organizational standards. This full-time position, scheduled for weekend nights in Lakewood, Colorado, requires expertise in imaging procedures and patient education.

Key responsibilities

  • Perform sonography procedures according to established practices and standards.
  • Review patient history and physician's orders, scheduling as necessary.
  • Educate patients about procedures and ensure their understanding and cooperation.
  • Monitor patient conditions and respond to changes as appropriate.
  • Prepare equipment and select exposure factors for imaging.
  • Implement safety standards and perform quality control on imaging equipment.
  • Troubleshoot and report equipment malfunctions.
  • Analyze imaging results and resolve quality issues.
  • Enter and report scan results accurately.

Required skills

  • Graduate of an accredited Ultrasound Technologist program.
  • Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer (RDMS), Vascular Technologist (RVT), or Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer (RDCS).
  • BLS Certification through American Heart Association or Red Cross.
  • Experience with ultrasound and imaging procedures.
  • Critical thinking and decisive judgment skills.
