Job Description

Overview

UCHealth is seeking a Diagnostic Medical Sonographer for night shifts at the Anschutz Inpatient Pavilion in Aurora, Colorado. The role involves performing sonography while adhering to the organization’s policies and standards, and requires a commitment to quality patient care and safety.

Key responsibilities

  • Review patient history and physician's orders
  • Educate patients about procedures and equipment
  • Prepare and administer contrast media and medications within scope of practice
  • Monitor patient condition and report changes
  • Prepare equipment and select appropriate exposure factors
  • Implement safety standards and perform quality control procedures
  • Troubleshoot and report equipment malfunctions
  • Position patients and perform imaging procedures
  • Analyze results and resolve image quality issues
  • Enter, transmit, and report scan results

Required skills

  • Graduate of accredited Ultrasound Technologist or Diagnostic Medical Sonographer program
  • Registered as RDMS, RVT, or RDCS
  • State licensure if required
  • BLS certification from American Heart Association or American Red Cross
  • Critical thinking and decisive judgment skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
