Overview

The Development Manager at Rafiki Coalition plays a crucial role in securing resources to support the nonprofit's mission of eliminating health inequities and improving the lives of marginalized communities in the Bay Area. Reporting to the Director of Development & Communications, this hands-on position involves managing foundation grants, corporate giving, and development operations to create a sustainable funding pipeline while fostering relationships with key donors and stakeholders.

Key responsibilities

  • Maintain annual foundation fundraising plan and pipeline in collaboration with DD&C and ED.
  • Coordinate the grant lifecycle for private and community foundations, ensuring timely submission of proposals and reports.
  • Build and steward relationships with program officers and foundation staff.
  • Develop and maintain a corporate prospect list aligned with Rafiki's mission.
  • Create sponsorship materials for fundraising events.
  • Lead maintenance of accurate records for institutional funders and major donor prospects.
  • Oversee systems for acknowledgment letters and emails for grants and major gifts.
  • Prepare briefing materials for donor meetings and capture outcomes in the CRM.
  • Support collaboration with program leaders to align fundraising with program goals.
