Overview

The Development Manager at Metropolitan Ministries plays a crucial role in advancing the organization's mission to support homeless and at-risk individuals in the Tampa Bay area. This position focuses on building and managing a diverse portfolio of individual and mid-level donors, enhancing donor engagement, and contributing to fundraising goals through strategic donor relationships and community involvement.

Key responsibilities

  • Manage a portfolio of individual and mid-level donors
  • Execute strategic moves management plans
  • Develop personalized cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship strategies
  • Grow donor retention and upgrade giving levels
  • Track activity and progress using CRM tools
  • Create meaningful donor engagement opportunities
  • Ensure consistent stewardship and communication with donors
  • Represent Metropolitan Ministries at donor meetings and community events
  • Utilize donor research to identify new prospects
  • Analyze giving history to inform strategy
  • Support fundraising events and initiatives

Required skills

  • Experience in fundraising, sales, or nonprofit development (2-3 years)
  • Strong relationship-building and interpersonal skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Self-motivated and results-oriented
  • Experience with donor databases and Microsoft Office
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities
  • Comfortable engaging with diverse donors and community partners
  • Knowledge of fundraising ethics and donor confidentiality
