Overview

The Design Engineer III at ACO, Inc. will apply engineering skills to product development and process design. This role involves creating 3D CAD models, conducting tests for products and materials, and assisting in process improvements while ensuring compliance with standards and regulations.

Key responsibilities

  • Create 3D CAD models and detailed drawings from sketches or notes
  • Check dimensions and specifications of parts and materials
  • Assist in product development and process improvements
  • Conduct laboratory and production testing
  • Utilize engineering principles for new product design
  • Assist in material selection and evaluation
  • Design and evaluate production processes
  • Store and manage drawings in company PDM
  • Support quality control and safety compliance programs
  • Collaborate with other departments on layout needs

Required skills

  • Degree in Mechanical or Civil Engineering
  • 4-7 years of experience in Mechanical or Civil Engineering
  • Project management and cost estimating experience
  • 2 years of experience with Autodesk Inventor or SolidWorks
  • Proficiency in 3D CAD modeling
  • Ability to interpret product design layouts
  • Experience with metal fabricated parts
  • Proficiency with MS Office Suite
  • Strong problem-solving and critical thinking skills
  • Excellent communication skills
