Overview

The Design Engineer III at ACO, Inc. applies engineering skills to product development and process design, including creating detailed drawings and 3D CAD models. This role involves collaborating with the R&D Supervisor, conducting testing, and implementing process improvements.

Key responsibilities

  • Create 3D CAD models and detailed drawings from sketches
  • Check dimensions and specifications of parts and materials
  • Conduct laboratory and production testing for products
  • Assist in product development and process design
  • Utilize knowledge of engineering practices and materials
  • Design and evaluate production processes including equipment specifications
  • Assist in quality control and compliance with safety practices
  • Store and manage all drawings in the company's PDM system

Required skills

  • Degree in Mechanical or Civil Engineering
  • 4-7 years experience in Mechanical or Civil Engineering
  • 4-7 years experience in project management and cost estimating
  • 2 years experience with Autodesk Inventor or SolidWorks
  • Experience interpreting design layouts and drafting
  • Proficiency in 3D CAD modeling
  • Familiarity with metal fabrication and related equipment
  • Proficient in MS Office Suite
  • Strong problem-solving and communication skills
