Overview

Metromont LLC is seeking a Design Engineer to join their engineering team in Winchester, Virginia. This entry-level position emphasizes supervision and learning across various engineering design aspects of projects, contributing to the company’s long-standing reputation in the precast concrete construction industry.

Key responsibilities

  • Design parking decks, building, and wall products, including associated connections
  • Independently manage engineering design aspects of projects with minimal guidance
  • Review contract documents to understand project requirements
  • Attend and possibly lead project meetings
  • Write Requests for Information (RFI) as needed
  • Assist with resolving engineering design issues
  • Check the accuracy and efficiency of engineering design calculations and details
  • Review erection drawings and ensure adherence to designs and standards
  • Complete repairs with assistance as required
  • Follow all Metromont and OSHA safety rules and regulations

Required skills

  • 0-3 years of relevant engineering experience
  • BS in Civil Engineering (structural emphasis preferred)
  • Experience with engineering design software
  • Strong work ethic and dependability
  • Attention to detail and accuracy
  • Strong communication skills
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities
