Job Description

Overview

ACE Thermal Systems is seeking a Design Engineer 2 to contribute to the design and development of aerospace environmental control systems. This role involves supporting product development from design to production, while documenting changes throughout the product lifecycle and conducting testing in a research and development lab located in Seminole, Oklahoma.

Key responsibilities

  • Perform project assignments under direct supervision of engineering manager or senior engineer
  • Assess customer requirements and design projects to meet these requirements
  • Analyze problems and recommend action to be taken
  • Ensure completion and accuracy of engineering documentation
  • Prepare and present design data for internal and customer design reviews
  • Support Design for Excellence (DFX) efforts
  • Prepare Development and Qualification Test Plans, Procedures, and Test Reports
  • Create initial drawings and minor revisions, and release simple drawings
  • Monitor and control project cost and schedule, communicating project status to stakeholders
  • Support existing products and recommend design or cost reduction improvements
  • Provide technical assistance to Business Development, Manufacturing, and Quality teams
  • Maintain project files and ensure proper documentation
  • Assist in planning and coordination with support groups
  • Interact with customers and suppliers on technical and program matters

Required skills

  • B.S. Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or related field
  • 2 - 4 years of experience in development of environmental control system components and systems
  • Aerospace or aircraft industry experience
  • Familiarity with RTCA/DO-160 and aerospace Supplemental Type Certification (STC) process
  • Experience with 3D modeling and drawings, preferably in SolidWorks or AutoDesk
  • Working knowledge of CAD design and analysis tools
  • Proficiency in MS Office software, including MS Project and Outlook
  • Ability to travel domestically and internationally up to 5%
