Overview

The Design Enablement Engineer position at NY CREATES focuses on hands-on work in component design, modeling, and PDK enablement flow within the Electronic Photonic Design and Automation group. The role involves designing and simulating electro-optic and RF components, assisting with measurements, analyzing data, and contributing to documentation and publications.

Key responsibilities

  • Design and simulate electro-optic and RF Silicon Photonic components
  • Layout test structures for design and modeling
  • Assist with measurements as required
  • Analyze data measured on components
  • Develop and extract compact models for PDK enablement
  • Contribute to reports, publications, and documentation associated with design and models

Required skills

  • Recent PhD or Post-Doc in engineering or science related discipline
  • Research publications in silicon photonic component design
  • Hands-on experience in Silicon Photonics design and modeling using EDA platforms
  • Experience with design and layout of test structures using EDA platforms
  • Familiarity with enabling components in EDA platforms
  • Data analysis and developing scripts for data processing
  • Understanding of Silicon Photonics process technology
