Overview

Columbia Healthcare is seeking a General Dentist to join their mission-driven, community-focused health organization in Michigan City, Indiana. This role is vital for improving health outcomes through patient-centered care in a federally qualified health center dedicated to serving underserved populations.

Key responsibilities

  • Provide routine and emergency dental services
  • Perform general restorative procedures, crown and bridge work, removable prosthetics, uncomplicated endodontics, and minor oral surgery
  • Initiate and interpret radiographs and laboratory studies
  • Administer and prescribe anesthetics and medications as appropriate
  • Refer patients to specialty care within the organization or to external providers when needed
  • Supervise Dental Assistants and Dental Hygienists
  • Conduct follow-up care to ensure continuity and quality of treatment
  • Deliver dental and oral health education to patients and families
  • Participate in reviewing clinic productivity, scheduling procedures, and establishing clinical guidelines
  • Teach and train patients and staff on illness prevention and oral health best practices
